My work is about drawing, colour and surface - it can be difficult to categorise - paintings, drawings, printmaking, ceramics? I have always been very drawn towards the strong contrasts of black and white, and it's something I return to in all these things. The exciting thing is to discover ...
I've re-discovered ceramics and using clay as a surface. Current subject matter is about landscape and big skies, and marks made by man in these landscapes, such as posts, groynes and other sea defences. This is probably something to do with my seaside East Anglian heritage, and visits to the Outer Hebrides and Iceland which have also had a huge influence.
I live in Hertfordshire and share a studio at Pressmore Farm near Berkhamsted.
